Kimono Rental Guide
Everything you need to know about renting a kimono with Biyori — from rental options and dressing services to event support.
Rental Service
The rental period is 3 days and 2 nights, which includes the delivery to you and the day you ship the items back.
Shipping to you is included in the rental price.
For customers living in Germany, a return shipping label is also included.
For customers outside Germany, return shipping must be arranged and paid for by the renter.
Rental prices vary depending on the kimono. Please check the rental fee listed on each product page for details.
The coordinations shown in the photos are for display purposes only. The obi and accessories included in your rental may differ from those shown.
Kimono coordination is generally arranged by our team. However, if you have any specific preferences or requests, please feel free to contact us. You are also welcome to visit our studio for a fitting.
If you would like to rent individual items only (such as an obi or accessories), please contact us in advance.
To use our rental service, a valid ID and agreement to our terms and conditions are required.
Kitsuke Service
I am based in Neuss, near Düsseldorf.
I can travel within NRW, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, and parts of the Netherlands. For locations outside Düsseldorf, travel fees may apply, depending on the distance. The exact details can be discussed individually.
The dressing fee applies to one person.
I can travel to your preferred location by car or public transportation. Please note that additional transportation costs for staff may apply depending on the distance.
For locations that are more than approximately 1.5 hours away by car, we may need to discuss the arrangements individually.

1-Day Rental + Free Kitsuke Service
For clients who live nearby, you may visit our studio for a same-day kimono rental. The package
- includes kimono rental
- complimentary dressing (kitsuke)
- simple hair styling and makeup.
Afterward, you can attend your event and return the kimono to the studio once you are finished.
For this option, you only pay the rental price of the kimono.
Please note that Iromuji and Komon are excluded from this offer.
Event + Photo Package
We can also support special occasions and memorable events, such as Shichi-Go-San, with kimono dressing and the option of professional photography.
Whether you are celebrating a traditional milestone, attending a cultural event, or simply wish to capture beautiful memories in kimono, we are happy to help arrange the experience for you. Our service can include kimono rental, dressing (kitsuke), and coordination with a professional photographer.
Photography can be arranged on location (outdoor) or in a professional photo studio, depending on your preference and the atmosphere you would like to create.
As every event is different, arrangements are handled individually according to your needs. Please feel free to contact us in advance so we can discuss the details, schedule, and location for your special day.
Consultation Form
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations or changes due to illness or severe weather are accepted until 5:00 PM two days before the appointment.
For kimono rental only, cancellation is possible as long as the item has not yet been shipped.
Security Deposit
A security deposit of 300 € is required for each kimono rental.
The deposit will be fully refunded after the kimono is returned and inspected, provided that the items are returned in good condition.
The deposit is used to cover loss, damage, or missing items during the rental period.
Existing condition of the kimono
Some kimono may already have minor stains or signs of age. These are carefully documented and recorded before the rental and will be pointed out to you when the kimono is prepared.
You will not be held responsible for any pre-existing marks or imperfections.
The deposit may be used in the following situations
- Permanent stains (food, makeup, oil, wine, etc.) that cannot be removed by standard cleaning
- Tears, burns, or other fabric damage
- Missing items from the rental set (obi, accessories, cords, etc.)
- Late return of the kimono
- Loss of the kimono or accessories
If the repair or replacement cost exceeds the deposit amount, the renter may be responsible for the additional cost.
The deposit does NOT cover
Normal and reasonable wear, including:
- Minor wrinkles from wearing
- Light dust from outdoor use
- Slight creasing from sitting or walking
Professional cleaning is handled by us, so you do not need to clean the kimono yourself.
Refund of deposit
The deposit will be returned after the kimono has been received and inspected, usually within a few days.
Return Policy
Please return all items in the same condition as received, including all accessories and packaging (such as the cardboard box, waterproof bag, etc.).
In most cases, the kimono will be collected in person after the rental period. For locations that are further away, return by shipping may be required. If this applies, we will inform you of the details in advance.
Photographer & Hair / Makeup Partners
We work with professional photographers and hair & makeup artists who have experience with kimono styling.
We also offer support through our in-house photographer and have access to a photo studio in Bonn, allowing us to arrange both studio and on-location (outdoor) photo sessions.
If you would like to arrange a photo session or full styling support, please feel free to contact us to discuss the details.
Usage Guidelines
The renter is responsible for the kimono and all included items during the rental period.
Please handle all items with care. Any damage caused by negligence or improper use may result in repair or replacement charges.
Weather
Kimono are delicate garments.
We recommend avoiding heavy rain and extreme weather conditions.
In case of severe weather, please contact us in advance to discuss possible adjustments.
Hygiene
Please avoid eating messy or strongly colored foods while wearing the kimono
Please do not smoking while wearing the kimono
Please avoid applying perfume directly onto the kimono
Fitting/Size
You may book a consultation appointment at our studio, where you can try on different kimono and discuss your preferences.
The first 30 minutes of fitting and dressing are complimentary.
If additional time is required, a fee of 10 € per additional 30 minutes will apply.
Consultation is by appointment only. If you proceed with a rental, the consultation fee may be credited toward your booking.
